omg what if gons a little fisherman. what if thats how he even stumbled up on killua
au where gon never found out his dad was alive and never found out about hunters and stayed on whale island with mito-san and became a fisherman
killua is a merboy who hates his family and hates eating fish all the time and hates being confined to the cold water so he runs away to the surface. he cant stay in the ocean at all or else he’ll be caught so he somehow manages to get himself to the lake where he hides and becomes a myth, like the “monster of the lake”
gon hears about this myth and no force in the world is more powerful than that childs curiosity so he decides to see for himself if theres anything and there is and he and kil become best friends
but he has to keep kil a secret from the rest of the island and omg omg what if he tries to show killua his house (since theyre always playing in killuas “house”) and carts him home in a wheelbarrow filled with water
and he thinks mito san isnt home but shE IS and gon has to explain to her “uh mom this is my friend. his names killua. hes half fish” and whAT IF THEY HAVE A SLEEPOVER AND. KILLUA SLEEPS IN THE BATHTUB FILLED UP WITH WATER AND GON MAKES A BLANKET BED ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR
I knew she was going to die sometime, but I didn’t want it to be so soon. 😦 And I was hoping Togashi wouldn’t kill one of the younger girl characters off first, but I guess that was too much to ask for. (If Sare-Sare lives longer than Fugetsuu and Kachou I’m goint to be so mad!) At least she got to do some cool stuff before she died, or rather her nen beast did. This scene does establish that the nen beasts can overexert themselves and leave their princes vulnerable, so that’s one new piece of information.
In other news, Queen Oito was so good and I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. Togashi is a cruel man, so I am not expecting him to let her live, but maybe he will surprise me.
Biscuit in a suit is always lovely to see, and I fear for Hanzo’s life, but I won’t be too sad if he ends up dying. Better him than Biscuit or Melody, at any rate.
Things aren’t looking so good for Theta, but honestly I hope she’s dead in this case. The fourth prince is a sick man, and I wouldn’t be surprised if his nen beast has some horrible power to reduce someone to PuppetKite, only more terrible. (Pokkle in the Chimera Ant arc comes to mind as well; Togashi could write so many horrible things happening to her…)
Aaaand Kurapika finally collapsed from exhaustion, and this is the least surprising thing in this chapter. It’s about time the dummy finally saw some consequences for overextending himself! I hope Queen Oito gets some more intel about the other princes before she gives up her power. Actually, I want her to learn too along with the other bodyguards it would be so cool! Let Queen Oito keep being awesome Togashi!
I hope Leorio and Cheadle make an appearance as the medics next chapter, for more reasons than one. Mainly, Queen Oito and Prince Woble only have two bodyguards who are completely on their side, and one is currently passed out on the floor. Maybe Kurapika can call on reinforcements from the zodiacs or something. Things are getting pretty intense right now, and I’m excited for the next chapter (even tho poor Momoze is dead. RIP :().
Re comaumbiscoito :“Do you ship Killua and Gon as a real couple or as just two really good friends? ” I’m not sure if “couple” is the right term since it’s not like they’re mushy and romantic with each other, but I feel like Gon and Killua are most definitely each other’s Most Important Person so I can’t see them seeking out and pairing up with anyone else, either. I can see them traveling the world together, going places and seeing things, probably never wondering what being a couple means and yet being a better couple than most couples could ever be!
killua was programmed to be a hyper intelligent killing machine but began to develop emotions that werent in the original code and started to want more than to just take orders
gon was built from scratch but abandoned in the forest where he survived out of sheer resilience. he’s terribly rusty and has even got a couple plants growing out of a few crevices
