I wanna write up a little post about how Chahut is a reference to the epic Gamzee/Terezi fanfic, The Serendipity Gospels, by Shelby craggy and urbanancharite. (Shelby did help come up with her design, after all.)

Not sure if I have time today tho…

Hiveswap Act 2 Prediction

a bunch of people have already been theorizing that Doc Scratch will use Joey and Xefros as pawns to usurp Trizza (possibly to make way for Feferi?), but what if he uses them for something else? like…

…transporting the rest of the Beta trolls to where they need to be on the planet? like some kind of amazing fetch quest deal. look, there’s a lot of Jade bloods in the cast, which means visiting the brooding caverns is probably inevitable, and it would be a perfect place to pick up some grubs. (i know Doc Scratch could move them around himself with his omnipotent space powers, but where would the fun be in that…)

…also I am mostly hoping this happens because then Joey would have to cart around our favorite characters as baby trolls and could rub them on everything. which sounds awesome??? maybe we could even name them too like we named the Lusii in Act 1? imagine the possibilities.

(imagine Bronya finding grub!Karkat, feeling so bad he will be auto-culled for being a mutant, and taking him back to her makeshift daycare. he won’t stop screaming, but she loves him anyway. and then someone who knows what his mutation means comes in and is just like “ARE YOU TRYING TO GET US ALL FUCKING KILLED?!?!”)

COMPLETE: we float before the sea at dusk (13/13)

callmearcturus:

Jake English is a minor celebrity of the sublight net
who often goes on intragalactic adventures to amazing locales to share
his excursions with his lovely followers. It can be very good press for
new interstellar tourist traps, so he’s used to being hired to check out
new vacation spots.

When his old friend Jane hires him, Jake winds up on Alcyone to
promote the new resort CrockerCorp has opened there. There’s but one
small, remarkable detail about the planet: it’s covered entirely in
breathable liquid.

It would make a perfect tourist trap. Shame it’s already inhabited.

(A very weird AU, in which humans try to settle a big waterworld to
build a tourist hotspot, and the native mers enact castle doctrine.)

Chapter Thirteen: the landscape after cruelty

(see you in the epilogue that i’ve been cruelly peer pressured into)

I’m rereading some of hs and… I had completely forgotten about this moment where Jake mentions BGD. particularly that sentence:

“he says all the right things to make me feel better about myself, but when he visits my brain I never actually feel that good about myself”

I feel like it gives some information about Jake and Dirk’s relationship, but also who BGD is and how he acts

“Roxy starts off INCREDIBLY passive aggressive and manipulates the Jakestakes quite a bit for her personal benefit, even as she pretends not to” I don’t necessarily disagree but I am curious as to what you’re referring to. Do you have a post on this subject you could link me to?

revolutionaryduelist:

I actually don’t, I’ve tackled writing one before but it just didn’t come together in my head. But its together now so here we go, I’m making it now JUST FOR YOU.

I really love Roxy and this isn’t me trying to shit on her, to be clear. What I’m describing is something Roxy addresses and feels regretful about herself, as she describes to Jake.

But honestly becoming aware of how rough Dirk gets it from everyone made watching the most common fandom takes on him pretty much insufferable to me, so I do want to use this as an opportunity to knock some more dents into the terrible “Dirk was an aloof, cold manipulator who lacked Heart”  fandom metanarrative.

Because frankly the shit he gets from Roxy puts into perspective that in canon,  Dirk is a deeply loving and self-sacrificing boy with the patience of a goddamn saint and the self-loathing of a particularly repressed catholic, so let’s run through the greatest hits.
