Okay, I’ve been wanting to ask this since I saw the scene in the manga, but I wanted to wait until the anime caught up so I wouldn’t have to tag for spoilers.
So, after we saw the scene where Killua tied up the soldiers, I got to wondering:
is this bondage?
Like, in any other situation I might think I’m over-analyzing this panel, except that I know for a fact Togashi has a thing for bondage (Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho gets tied up in actual bondage gear at one point in his series).
I don’t know anything about knots or tying up prisoners of war, so if anyone who is more knowledgeable about the subject can enlighten me, I would appreciate it very much.

This mentions some usage of rope tying as a respectful way of restraining prisoners, but that was really long ago.
I gotta admit though I’m laughing really really hard at the idea of Killua tying up the soldiers bondage-style, I never noticed this.
Thanks for the link that site was very informative! 🙂
I didn’t notice on my first read through either, but when I re-read it again later I saw this panel and was like “wait, what?”
