Like. Dude. I mostly don’t let shipping goggles get in my way. To me Killua and Gon’s relationship is the purest and most important and I couldn’t care less what it was (platonical or romantical, I’m all for anything, as long as they’re happy and together). I mostly try to take facts as they come with proof of how much they care about each other and that’s all.
But.
Killua defending Gon from a creep who wanted to date him, while Gon was accepting despite it being creepy.
Then having Killua asking about Gon’s date history and being freaked out when he learns Gon did hang out with lots of women before.
To,just after, reflect on how he never got a date because he stayed with Gon all the time and then thought about how he wanted it to always be like this.
And now to the point where, to protect him, he’s sneaking on Gon’s date to stalk from afar to make sure everything is okay
…….. those are totally fanfic tropes and that. Was not what I expected.
I’m wondering, which Disney movies do they both like and would watch together again on their own? And which movie is their own personal favorite? What do you think? I bet the Fox and the Hound makes them both cry for completely different reasons (Gon because it makes him remember separating from his foxbear friend Kon and Killua because, wow, these two promised to be friends forever but were torn apart due to circumstances beyond their control wow). They both agree never to watch it again. (2/2)

THIS IS SO FREAKING CUTE AND SAD CUZ THE BABIES DON’T KNOW CHILDREN’S MOVIES!!!!
I like the hospital setting so lets go with that. Leorio works at this hospital and gives them special treatment or something letting Gon and Killua bunk in the same room.
The Fox and the Hound would totally crush Killua. He’d be holding back tears but Gon could see a few rolling down his cheek and he hugs Killua and they both just kinda bond in silence. (and Killua wondering if he’ll ever have to leave Gon for his safety. To protect Gon he’d have to stay away and the thought hurts but he starts contemplating it.)
I feel like Gon would like all the adventurous ones like Treasure Planet, The Sword in the Stone (test of strength), but his absolute favorite would be The Jungle Book. He’d love “the bear necessities” and sing along to it so much Killua acts annoyed but he finds it cute how Gon will hum it before going to bed. He also likes Aladdin and Pocahontas and bawls with Dumbo (he thinks of Mito-san).
Killua likes the more romantic stories (not in the love sort of way. he likes more the “deeper” meaning behind words). So like maybe Brave (going against what an “heir” is supposed to do), Aladdin (both Gon and Killua enjoy it but Gon likes it cuz Aladdin’s dad reminds him of Ging and Killua because Genie is an awesome friend.), He finds Alice in Wonderland kinda weird but likes the “hidden” messages. The Lion King also appeals to him. Both of them. HE finds Timone and Pumbaa funny and starts cracking up when he imagines Leorio and Kurapika as them.

I kept meaning to make my own post about this after the testing gate episode came out, but I kept putting it off, so I’ll just reblog this one. The 2011 anime is pretty faithful to the manga (besides a couple of big things), but it does tend to leave out a lot of cool little details like this. Read the manga if you want to see what else the anime left out!

Canon universe, just after the 13th hunter chairman election arc!
“Wait, Killua, wait-”
Killua paused with his hand on the doorknob. He frowned down at the Ant. “What? Is something wrong?”
Ikalgo silently wrestled with himself, unsure of how to tell Killua what he wanted to say. Killua sighed heavily.
“C’mon, Ikalgo, spit it out! I don’t want to keep Alluka alone in there.”
Ikalgo deflated. “I- sorry. I’m just not sure if this is a good idea.”
“…why?”
“B-because!” Ikalgo waved his tentacles around. “This is- this is the same person who saved Gon!”
Killua raised one eyebrow. “So?”
“So! Before none of us were allowed to be in the same building as her, but now you want us to meet?! Is it safe to introduce us? Is it safe for you, either of you? If this is something that will cause your family to lash out against you, I…
I’d rather not do it.”
Ikalgo deflated, squeezing his eyes shut. In his mind, he saw Killua as the first time they’d met- a blazing figure in white, flying through the air like a flash of lightning.
Ikalgo confessed, “I don’t want to hurt you, Killua. Or your sister. I care too much about you after everything we’ve been through to do that to you.”
There was a pause.
“Ikalgo,” Killua’s voice was soft. Ikalgo opened his eyes and looked up to find his friend smiling at him with rosy cheeks.
“Its okay,” Killua told him. “I promise. My family is gone. You don’t have to worry about them getting to me or Alluka, okay? I just want you two to meet before we leave with Gon for the World Tree, because. Um. I care about you, too, so its important to me that you meet someone else who I care a lot about. Understand?”
Ikalgo’s heart swelled.
This was how much Killua valued their friendship; that he would trust Ikalgo with his sister, someone Killua loved more dearly then anyone else.
“Yes!” Ikalgo said with a nod.
Killua’s smile widened. “Awesome.” He creaked the door open and held it for Ikalgo to pass through.
There, on the hotel bed, sat a small girl with long, dark hair. She jumped up when she caught sight of them and her blue eyes brightened with joy.
“You must be Ikalgo!”
She ran over to them. Ikalgo shifted to the side, expecting her to embrace her brother before turning to him-
But then small arms wrapped around him. Ikalgo blinked in surprise to find himself in Alluka’s tight hug, completely caught off guard and unsure how to react.
“Thank you,” Alluka said. “Thank you. I’m so glad you exist!”
She pulled away and Ikalgo froze when he saw that her eyes shone with unshed tears. Why was she-?
“Thank you for saving my brother’s life,” she said brokenly. “He can be- really reckless, sometimes. I don’t know what I would’ve done if- if you hadn’t been there to-”
“Alluka!” Killua rushed over. “That’s not- I would’ve been fine, I promise! There’s no reason for you to get so worked up!”
Alluka glared at him even as she sniffed loudly. “I don’t believe you!”
Killua winced and Ikalgo asked, “You told her about the time I rescued you?”
“Well, yeah. If I wanted you two to get together, I had to tell her how we met!”
Alluka rubbed her face. “I almost didn’t believe he’d done something so thoughtless when he explained it all to me. Only really impulsive people would walk straight into a trap like that!”
Ikalgo grinned. “Or just really careless people, like your brother, apparently.”
“Hey!” Killua snapped as Alluka quietly giggled. “I did not bring you two together to get made fun of!”
“I don’t know what you were expecting! You’re really easy to tease, brother.”
“Oh, please, don’t you start doing this to me too! Gon’s already bad enough-”
Ikalgo looked on as the two siblings squabbled good-naturally. There was an ease and joy in which they interacted, and it was clear how close their bond was. Ikalgo had never seen Killua so relaxed; emotions flitted across his face without any coverage at all.
He swallowed thickly as a quiet rush of affection threatened to overwhelm him. He loved this kid who had valued Ikalgo’s worth before even knowing who he was, who saved Ikalgo when Ikalgo didn’t know he needed to be saved, who trusted Ikalgo enough to show him someone who mattered more to Killua then his own life.
Ikalgo was honored to have Killua’s friendship. And he knew, as he had known for a long time, that he would live the rest of his life trying to repay Killua everything he had done.

Persephone/ Hades Killugon AU
Ok ye so their colour palettes and general arcs might work best with Killua as lord of the underworld and Gon the fierce flower child, but consider this. Gon as king of the dead with a pet three headed dog called Spot and the biggest most embarrassing crush on this beautiful, ethereal flower person who is actually really damn terrifying. U feel me?
Patroclus/ Achilles Killugon AU
Again, as the golden child I can see Gon as an excellent Achilles, and who better than Killua to be his loyal retainer. But again consider, a beauty so strange, otherworldly and almost feminine Killua as Achilles is able to masquerade as a dancer. Imagine Killua’s cold goddess of a mother hating Gon for bringing out Killua’s humanity. Imagine Gon, farmhand, going into battle because Killua will not for his pride. (Imagine Killua mad with rage fighting once he’s buried him. Imagine them buried together by the sea.)
Helen/Paris Killugon AU
Three ancient, beautiful goddesses asking one impossibly reckless handsome young man to answer a question that will start a war. That young man choosing love and receiving a person whose beauty is so captivating it will be called witchcraft for centuries. Two reckless young lovers bringing the world down around them. Gon as Paris, who will have his love no matter the cost. Killua as Helen, the bewitching, bewitched.
Helen/Menelaus Killugon AU
The great strong warrior chosen by the most beautiful person in all the land over his more handsome brothers for his kindness and his faith, who loses his great ethereal love to a goddess tipping the scales. Who follows that love across the ocean to the shores of Troy and dies there, in view of the city walls.
Orpheus/Eurydice Killugon AU
Bewildering, enchantingly talented musician with the blood of gods in his veins, able to make spirits pause and stones listen. A man who loses his love, a dryad, pursued by a suitor who won’t take no for answer to death by the bite of a poisonous snake. Impossible quest has Gon written all over it, I’ll grant you, and I like that version of the story. But how about the loner who wins the sympathy of Hermes, god of travellers and thieves, who braves the darkness of Hades only to fail on the way out because he can’t help looking back, can’t help assuaging his doubt and for doing so, loses his love forever. That has Killua written all over it, for me.
Odysseus/Penelope Killugon AU
The clever mischievous hero of tricks and speed and strength, who loves the wise person over those said to be more beautiful, and fights to win them. That person remaining faithful in all the years that they’re gone, and the two recognising one another once more over the fact that one leg of their bed is a living olive tree. (Added angst for Penelope battling 108 suitors and needing the maids to help. And waiting and not knowing if Odysseus would come back alive or whole at all.) Personally I see Gon as Odysseus and Killua as Penelope, but whichever you prefer. Killua works well for fleet footedness and mischief
